Based on peer-reviewed science, our process is designed to produce a final presentation that connects with the audience and distinguishes you from the competition.

You’ll gain the confidence to deliver a persuasive presentation, win the pitch, and get more funding.

make your presentations memorable

Our workshops are built on peer reviewed research, so we only recommend ways of working that have been shown to be effective. We take the guess work out of what will resonate, and show you how your audience processes information. By catering your content to your audience (and how they process information), we can help your content stick in their minds long after the presentation is over.

What our customers are saying

My colleagues and I attended a webinar you presented on more effective messaging (powerpoint) organised by Techcomm NZ. We were VERY impressed with how you modelled your message. I witnessed an immediate improvement in our internal comms as a result. From implementing your approach, I’ve seen the quality of messaging to clients improve and we’ve had shorter iterations between teams saving time and money

– Craig R from New Zealand

Very few are ever taught how to properly present, much less create an effective PowerPoint. Worse, many companies will complain about meeting length, yet persist with the company standard, boring, PowerPoint structure. Danielle’s 1-hour talk on effective presentation techniques taught me more than I ever learned in my 25+ year career. I feel more comfortable presenting to audiences and truly feel that the content entertains and maintains audience’s attention.

Chip R. from North Carolina

Danielle worked for me at RTI International and I can say without hesitation she was the best creative teacher I’ve every had the privilege to work with.  Her trainings and presentations are always very well received by technical staff who say it’s approachable material and very much needed in the new world of technical communications.

What can I learn in your courses?

In our courses we cover:

  • How to be comfortable in front of an audience by learning how to appear and feel confident, cutting out filler words (like “umm”, “like”, or “you know”.) We’ll cover tips to over come speaking anxiety, and how you can confidently present at your next meeting or conference.
  • Tailor a message so it’s more effective by making it more persuasive, memorable, or communicate to the right audience at the right time. Think about who is in the room and make sure that your message is hitting them.
  • Apply graphic design principles to your slides. We’ll cover the 5 basic principles of graphic design, have you practice them, and get feedback on what you’ve done well and how you can continue to improve. These graphic design principles will help you learn how to be a designer for any medium (whitepapers, reports, social media posts, posters, etc.)
  • Use PowerPoint (or Google slides, Canva, or Keynote) like a pro. One of my clients calls this PowerPoint Ninja training since it teaches people tips and tricks that they had no idea existed in the slide software.
  • Learn storytelling techniques to help your presentation connect with your audience, move them, persuade them, and remember what you said. We’ll cover how you can use this to focus on the flow of the presentation or use a one-off story to make a point.

Throughout our training, you’ll learn how to present your content better, cut down on the technical noise, and connect with your audience. This will allow you to confidently walk into your next meeting, pitch, conference presentation, or 1:1 with your boss.

What services do you offer?

What we do

Make It Memorable helps you become a more effective communicator, whether that’s through visual design (graphic design and data visualization best practices), verbal delivery (speech coaching, public speaking, and presentation skills), or storytelling. We support you at any stage of the presentation process, from crafting the content to practicing delivery. Whether you need help designing polished slides, creating a TED Talk-style narrative, or practicing your Q&A responses, we can tailor the experience to your specific needs.

We don’t believe in one size fits all
We offer a “choose your own adventure” approach, so you only pay for the services you need. If you want to engage in the content asynchronously, you can do that. If you want a white-gloved approach where we walk you through the entire process and help you make your deck from start to finish, we can do that too.

We help make technical presentations easier to understand
Our expertise is especially impactful for technical professionals—scientists, analysts, researchers, and developers—because we know how to translate niche, technical knowledge into clear and compelling stories. Whether you’re presenting to other experts, clients, or a lay audience, we’ll help ensure your ideas stick with your audience long after your talk.

We’ve got you covered
As presentation consultants, we work with professionals across industries from educators to executives. We work with you through one-on-one sessions, pre-recorded workshops, and synchronous sessions to help you with graphic design, presentations, storytelling skills, and PowerPoint training online or in person. Whether you’re looking for a PowerPoint coach, presentation design classes, or corporate presentation training, we’ve got you covered.

What is a presentation consultant, and how is it different from a speech coach?

Speech coaching vs. Presentation Consulting
While a speech coach focuses on delivery techniques, such as reducing filler words (“um,” “you know”), improving gestures, and addressing verbal quirks, a presentation consultant takes a more holistic approach. We do incorporate speech coaching when needed, but we find that speech habits are rarely the biggest issue in presentations. Instead, we integrate content strategy, public speaking coaching, audience engagement, and slide design. Whether you’re an educator, a scientist, a creative, or a manager seeking a communication course for managers, we provide structured support backed by communication science and the best public speaking tips we’ve learned over years of practice.

Designing for Impact
Instead of focusing on how to just make you sound better, we focus on how audiences remember and are persuaded. How you sound definitely impacts this as well, but there’s often a need to focus on how you structure your content, the design of your slides, or how your message connects through stories and examples.

Backed by Science
My goal is to help you create a more memorable and effective presentation by focusing on how people learn and process information. Through this lens, I help restructure your content, so it resonates, using principles of psychology and communication science to ensure your ideas are not just heard but retained. This goes well beyond just cutting out “ums” and adding hand gestures. It’s about crafting a message that inspires your audience to engage.

Who should attend your presentation, design, or PowerPoint workshops?

nyone who wants to present better, design more effectively, use storytelling, or simply boost their skills!

We typically work with a variety of professionals, including:

  • Technical teams (scientists, researchers, postdocs, professors, developers, software engineers, data analysts, engineers, etc.)
  • Creative professionals (marketers, writers, graphic designers, etc.)
  • Educators (teachers, professors, e-learning developers, instructional designers, trainers, etc.)
  • Teams and organizations (departments, group presentations, pitches, or proposals)

What School Never Taught You
If you’ve struggled with presenting or feel like you could improve, our workshops will change how you approach presentations forever. Attendees have often said things like, “where were you 3 years ago?” and “I went through undergrad, grad school, and worked as a professional for a decade, and I learned more about presentations in your 1 hour training than I have in the rest combined.” You’ll walk away knowing how to structure your presentations, integrate more stories and visuals, and deliver with confidence.

Teacher PD
If you’re an educator seeking professional development for educators, we have you covered. Especially if you’re a high school or higher ed instructor, you probably did not get the psychology of how we learn in your university courses. Our teacher classes online will give you the tools you need to make your lectures more memorable, which leads to better retention and recall. Our training courses for teachers cover similar content as our other presentation courses, but are online courses specifically designed for educators.

Danielle Hennis, who created these workshops has taught as an educator for over a decade and presents this content at conferences regularly. Recently, one of the attendees said, “This is what all conference sessions should be like. I’m going back and adjusting my lessons for next week based on what I learned.”

Want a customized workshop?

We work with your team to create content that is customized to what you need. We can take some of our base workshops, apply examples that are specific to your team’s presentations, show what’s working well and what can be improved upon, and then have your team practice. We focus on what you need and how we can have that message stick with your team after the training is done. We’ve done one-on-ones after the workshop to make sure that the content is applicable to the team, we’ve created activities to apply to your team meeting, and we’ve helped you come up with clusters of team members to get feedback on their presentations to ensure it meets best practices. We always give out handouts that cover what we discussed to ensure your team can refer back to them when needed, and we can create just in time learning videos that your team can access when they get stuck.

We offer specialized workshops to meet professional needs, including the following:

  • Are you working in Canva, Google Slides, Adobe Express, or PowerPoint and feel like your designs never come out as well as the templates? We can teach you graphic design 101: the core principles of graphic design. We offer a course that covers the essential rules of effective visuals, helping you create materials that are not only beautiful but functional. You’ll discover how to direct your audience’s attention, improve clarity, and feel confident about your designs.
  • If you work in PowerPoint, we run sessions that teach advanced shortcuts, workflow tips, and tools that I guarantee you didn’t know existed to save time and reduce frustration.
  • If you want to improve your public speaking skills, our workshop will help you conquer nerves, feel more confident, and give you tips and tricks on the day of the presentation.
  • For those interested in using storytelling techniques, we have sessions to help you incorporate stories into presentations, no matter how technical or niche the content. We’ve worked with groups on their scientific and business storytelling, and if we can do it for these topics, you can do it for anything!

How can you help with oral proposals?

Strategy First
For oral proposals, we begin with a brainstorming session to identify your key messages, audience, competition, story, and strategies. From there, we work with what you need.

Support That Meets You Where You Are
